Description
Shamba Viking – unique setting with tranquillity and space Among gently rolling sand dunes of acacias and tropical fruit and nut trees, our Shamba offers 2.5 ha or 5 acres of rare tranquillity and space. It gives you personal space in the fantastic Lamu setting - a place with sun and shade, and a cooling
Ocean breeze. The night is starlit with soothing sounds from foliage of palm trees and - when the wind is from a southerly direction - waves on Shela Beach. The lodge is designed to be climate adapted and eco-friendly. We invite you to enjoy
the uniqueness of Shamba and Lodge.
Shamba Viking – a different stage for a different experience. Halfway between Lamu Town and Shela Village, on Lamu Island in the Indian Ocean, Shamba La Familia Ya Viking – or just Shamba Viking - is found. ‘Shamba’ means ‘farmstead’ or ‘small plantation’ in Swahili, and our Shamba is part of a landscape of tropical fruit and nut trees in an old Lamu plantation landscape with gently rolling sand dunes, culminating at greater height along Shela Beach in the south. We have trees of coconut, mango, tamarind and cashew to enjoy the fresh fruits of, season permitting.
