• Day 1

  Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes NP

  Our Rwanda Representative will meet you at Kigali Airport for short briefing, a snack (or provided with a picnic lunch) and proceed to Northern Rwanda. Traveling time from Kigali to Hotel; Approx 3 hours.

  • Meals: Lunch (or picnic lunch) and Dinner

• Day 2

  Day 2: Gorilla Trekking-Kigali

  Early morning rising!

  • 0545 hrs: Breakfast at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. 
  • 0630 hrs:  Picked up by your driver-guide and proceed to starting point.
  • 0700 hrs: Briefing by your gorilla guide and proceed in your vehicle to the actual starting point of the trek.

   

  Return from trek any time between 1200hrs-1500hrs (approximately) depending on the trek’s length for at your lodge (at our cost). Time permitting (NOTE) visit the traditional village and see a bit more of Rwandan traditional life (entry fee of US$ 30 per person to be paid directly by yourselves to the village – depends on length of the trek for the day).  Return to Kigali by road arriving late afternoon / early evening. Dinner at your hotel at your own cost.

• Day 3

  Day 3: Kigali Tour-Depart Home

  Breakfast at Lemigo Hotel.

  • 0800hrs. Clients are picked up at the hotel and proceed on a city tour of Kigali including a visit to the Genocide museum / memorial as well as Kigali’s only craft market.
  • 1030hrs: Proceed to Kigali Airport.
  • 1045hrs: Check in at the airport.
  • 1345hrs: Kenya Airways flight departs from Kigali to Nairobi.
  • 1615hrs: Our Kenyan representative will receive you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi (flight own arrangement and cost) and transfer you to the Sarova Stanley Hotel where accommodation is on bed and breakfast.

• Day 4

  Day 4: Nairobi- Amboseli

  After breakfast, start with your Kenya safari at Amboseli National Park. Lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge followed by afternoon game drives in the park in search of herds of elephants, giraffes, lions, and a variety of other animals and birds. We have chosen Amboseli Sopa Lodge for you because it’s the only lodge that gives you the best view of the snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro at dawn.

• Day 5

  Day 5: Amboseli

  Full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives to cover other areas of the park and in search of the wildlife you may have missed the previous day.

• Day 6

  Day 6: Amboseli–Nairobi-Masai Mara

  After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara via Nairobi. Lunch at Jacarada Hotel in Nairobi (cost included) and then continue with your journey to Masai Mara Game Reserve through the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge late afternoon. If time allows, set off for game drives till sunset in search of the Big Five.

• Day 7

  Day 7-8: Masai Mara

  Spend the whole day in the Masai Mara plains doing game drives and on the look out for herds of wildebeests grazing in the Mara plains. Optional evening visits to Masai cultural village to learn their culture and dances. Each visit cost USD35 per person and you pay this directly.

• Day 9

  Day 9: Masai Mara-Lake Nakuru

  After breakfast, depart Mara for Lake Nakuru. Lunch at the Lake Nakuru Lodge followed by an extensive afternoon game drives in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

• Day 10

  Day 10: Lake Nakuru-Aberdares

  After breakfast, depart or Aberdares National Park, with a brief stop at Thomsons Falls. Access to the park by private vehicles is limited to conserve and protect the environment which hosts wildlife such as elephant, rhino, buffalo, bush bucks, giant forest hogs, Sykes monkey, leopard, and bongo. Arrive at the Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch (cost included). A representative of The Ark Lodge will transfer you to their lodge.

  This tree-lodge is uniquely shaped to resemble the actual Ark, designed with decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for viewing the animals visiting the salt-lick and waterhole. A ground-level bunker at The Ark provides excellent photographic opportunities, and the Yasabara waterhole is floodlit by night to enable all-night viewing of game.

• Day 11

  Day 11: Aberdares-Nairobi-Depart Home

  After breakfast at your lodge, a driver of The Ark Lodge will transfer you back to The Aberdare Country Club where you’ll reconnect with your driver/guide and then depart for Nairobi through Central Kenya. Stop at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi for lunch. Later, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your international flight home.
