5 Nights/6 Days Migration Safari Kenya

This wildlife safari in Kenya is designed for tourists who want to witness the annual wildebeest migration at Masai Mara. Witness migration safari in Kenya from the safety of your van or aloft a balloon flight in the vast plains.

The migration comprise of the never ending milling of over 2.5 million wild animals composed of a about 1.7 million wildebeests, and 800,000 common Zebras and gazelle, followed closely by their predators-lions, hyenas, leopards, jackals. Hovering in the skies are thousands of vultures, the super predators. Patient in nature, they survey the migrating herds descending on the dead carcasses reducing them to skeletons in a matter of seconds.

Large herds of wildebeests, buffalo and zebras graze on the verdant floodplains and occasionally plunge into crocodile-infested Mara River to access greener pastures across the river. A giant crocodile emerges from underneath the waters to pick off a host of the herds of wildebeest making their way across a river in Kenya's Masai Mara during their annual wildebeest migration.

The sight of wildebeests, zebras and other creatures being grabbed are a common sight on many a nature programme - but the sheer ferocity of the crocodile make these images more terrifying than ever. The unsuspecting wildebeest are no match for the deadly jaws and superior strength of this huge crocodile.

The killing machine slaughters several, but strangely, leaves them to float down the river uneaten. As the crocodiles strike, other animals are trampled under the feet of the surging herds and they get swept by the fast-flowing waters. And the predators lie in wait for the herds that make their way across a stream during their mass migration in the Masai Mara, waiting to make a kill. Some of the terrified animals that did their best to escape the clutches of the ferocious crocodile end up in the razor-sharp teeth of waiting lions, cheetahs and other predators. This breath-taking episode is best known as the survival of the fittest.

This survival of the fittest spectacle has been described at the "seventh wonder of the modern world" and is magical wonder of nature that attracts thousands of human beings to Masai Mara.
