Description

The Sabyinyo volcano hiking tour takes place in Mgahinga gorilla national park. Sabyinyo is one of the eight volcanoes that comprise the Virunga ranges. Sabyinyo hike is one of the highlighted rated tourist activity after mountain gorilla tracking. The other two volcanoes on Uganda side of the Vriunga massif are Muhabura and Gahinga.

  • Mt. Sabyinyo -

    Regarded as the best volcano to hike in Mgahinga based on reviews from hikers, climbing the "old mans teeth" takes about 8hours. The mountain has three peaks-- with different levels of difficulty. Because of its rugged nature, there are several wooden ladders along the hiking trail. The third and final peak is where the boarders of Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC intersect.
