The Batwa Trail is a cultural experience tour in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The tour takes visitors through the lifestyle of the Batwa forest peoples before they were evicted from the national park in the early 1990s. The Batwa livelihood was entirely based on the forest economy through hunting and fruit gathering.

    The Batwa Trail is a breathtaking cultural experience in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The tour which takes between 4 and 8 hours, and guided by the Batwa themselves takes you through the lives of the Batwa people. The guide will show case how the batwa used to hunt, gather fruits and built huts. The tour ends at Garama cave, a dorm shaped landform that acted as the Batwa retreat center. Here a group of Batwa will hold a performance praising their lives in the forests.
