Description

The trip is designed to provide opportunity to explore the famous attractions around the Bwindi region of south western Uganda. These include visiting the famous Lake Bunyonyi, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and volcano hiking in Mgahinga.

  • Transfer from Kigali/Rwanda to Kisoro/Bwindi

    The drive from Kigali takes you through an 3-4 hour road trip through northern Rwanda to the southwestern town of Kisoro. You will get a chance to make a stopover at the Uganda-Rwanda boarder (Cyanika) to obtain a visa, if you need one. Overnight at Golden Monkey Guest House.

  • Gorilla Tracking

    You will leave for gorilla tracking very early in the morning. Upon reaching Bwindi national park, the gorilla trekking adventure will begin with a briefing by the national guide on how to handle yourself once you enter the home of the “endangered species”.

    The trip can take about 3 to 6 hours deepening on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. Get hold of your camera as you will be able to take lots of stunning photos. There is no doubt that this will be a remarkable experience!

  • Golden Monkey Trekking

    This trip will take you to trek the golden monkeys, an endemic species of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The trip will take your through the jungles of Mgahinga National park - which consists of bamboo and a variety of indigenous plants like giant lobelia.

    During the trip, your guide will tell you about the history of the national park and the fauna and flora that the park holds. With only less than 5,000 left in the wild, Golden Monkeys are only found in Uganda and Rwanda. Please join Bamboo Ecotours and have an opportunity to meet the golden monkeys in Mgahinga.

  • Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

    Transfer from Kisoro in the morning to Lake Bunyonyi in the nearby Kabale district. Here where you will have options to enjoy canoeing, bird watching, and local cultures. Lake Bunyonyi is about 2 hours drive from Kisoro but the views are just breathtaking.

  • End of trip and transfer to Kampala

    Basically this is the last of the trip. Our guide will drive from Bunyonyi very early in the morning to Kampala and then Entebbe International Airport.
