Description

The best highlights for this trip is the encounter the great apes in their forest home. Upon transferring from Kampala to Kibale, the experience will start with a chimpanzee walk early morning where you are also likely to see other primates especially monkeys and other species of birds. In the afternoon, you will visit Bigodi swamp, which is sanctuary for many endemic bird species. You will also see for yourself how the local community has contributed to the conservation of the wetland.

  • Transfer from Kampala City to Kibale National Park

    A Bamboo Ecotours tour guide will pick you up from Kampala in the morning and head west wards towards Kibale National Park. Along the way you will enjoy amazing landscapes of western Uganda, including tea and coffee plantations. The journey will take about 5-6 hours.

  • Chimp Trekking in Kibale National Park

    Starting in the morning at Kibale National Forest Park, you will go into the jungle to encounter with chimpanzees and different species of monkeys like the Red Tailed Monkey, Olive baboon and Black and White Columbus Monkey. If trekking is completed early, have a walk in the nearby Bigodi wetland.

  • Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    On day 3, you will travel from Kibale Forest National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National to encounter the mountain gorillas. The drive will take about 5-6hrs through the hilly plains of southwestern Uganda. You will arrive at the lodge in the afternoon/evening and relax as you prepare for the big tracking day the following morning.

  • Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi National Park

    The gorilla trekking adventure will begin with a briefing by the guide on how to handle yourself once you enter the home of the “endangered species”. The trip can take about 3 to 9 hours deepening on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. Get hold of your camera as you will be able to take lots of photos. This will be “a remarkable experience”!

  • Last day and end of this tour

    Drive back to Kampala to catch your flight at Entebbe or continue the journey to your next destination.
