Description

In 1954, the famous writer Ernest Hemingway crashed his plane on his way to Murchison Falls. From the top of these falls, as you look out over the gushing waterfalls and across the expansive savannah, you will understand what called him to this reserve.

Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Forest are unrivalled destinations that will leave you awestruck on every step of this safari.

  • From Sanctuary to Sanctified Splendor

Our destination is the beloved Murchison Falls National Park. En-route, we take an exhilarating detour into Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to seek out and observe the powerful and endangered Rhinos.

We travel onward and close the day at Fort Murchison Safari Lodge. Accommodation: Fort Murchison Safari Lodge

  • Crossing the Savannah, Cruising the Nile

We take advantage of the morning hours to embark on a game drive, searching for lions, warthogs, giraffes, elephants, hartebeests, and jackals as they saunter and graze across the vast savannah. In the afternoon, we continue the search on a boat cruise, now rewarded for efforts with visions of lounging crocodiles, buffalo, hippos, and birds at the shores of the Nile.

We disembark at the bottom of the falls and hike to the top of the powerful Murchison waterfalls, where the force of the Nile blasts through a narrow fold at the northernmost tip of the Great Valley.

  • Mityana cultural adventure

After breakfast at the lodge, we head south to Mityana for our next adventure. We will have lunch en-route at Kabalega Diner, and upon our arrival, check into our booked Safari Lodge in time for dinner. Accommodation: Full-Board

  • Etanda Cultural Experience

After breakfast, we set out to the village of Kijjude for a one-of-a-kind cultural encounter. Our day will be spent learning the true culture of the Baganda people that has stood the test of time. Upon arrival at the village, we are warmly welcomed by a troupe of dancers, moving rhythmically to the beat of the Ugandan drums.

While there, feel free to indulge in a wide variety of local fruit, and some activities common to the Baganda, such as hunting, cooking African cuisine, weaving baskets as well as being equipped with marriage secrets from the elders (“Ssengas” for the ladies and “Kojjas” for the men). Return to the lodge later in the evening with new found discoveries about the depth of African culture and a renewed appreciation for East African cuisine.

  • South West Bound

We press forward and begin our journey to Uganda’s most popular reserve, the idyllic landscapes we encounter serving as a beacon of the sights to come. Upon arrival at our lodge, we enjoy an evening of comfort and relaxation in anticipation of the next day’s adventure.

  • Game Drives & Boat Cruise

With the crack of dawn, comes a rare chance to spot lots of wild game as they arise from their slumber. We shall be up as early as 6 am for a quick breakfast followed by a morning game drive to catch a glimpse of the wildlife. A delicious lunch back at the lodge will be followed by a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where our day’s efforts are rewarded with a dizzying array of animals.

Our evening drive back to the lodge through the elephant plains presents an opportunity to view the largest mammal on earth up-close. While there, we will make a foray into Kasenyi, where we will have a chance to view more wild game that we might have missed in the morning drive.

  • Into the Impenetrable

Forest We begin our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable forest with an exhilarating drive through Ishasha for a chance to spot the mystifying tree-climbing lions. Upon arrival in Bwindi, we are welcomed to our booked lodge with a superb dinner. Accommodation: Broadbill Forest Camp

  • In the midst of the Gentle Giants

Tracking gorillas require delicacy, etiquette and endurance. A morning briefing sets the scene and drums up anticipation before we set out into the verdant undergrowth. It may be minutes or hours before we encounter the impressive primates in a humbling and memorable experience.

We return from this incredible adventure and set out for another with the Pygmies of Ituri forest called the Batwa people. This presents a rare opportunity to engage with this unique tribe & culture.

  • Return to Kampala with a stop at the Equator

We wake up to a delicious breakfast, our last one in this gorgeous land of rolling hills & dense forests; after which we begin our return to Kampala. Our first stop will be in Mbarara for lunch and our next at the Uganda Equator for pictures & a chance to get a few souvenirs or gifts for family and friends back home.
