Description

The Selous covering 45,000km² of wilderness, with grassy plains, open woodland, mountains and forests, (pronounced seloo, named after the great explorer and hunter, Frederick Courtney Selous) is Africas largest game reserve. Its about three times the size of South Africas Kruger National Park, and twice the size of the Serengeti National Park. In a fitting tribute, it is also one of Tanzanias three World Heritage Sites.

  • Dar es Salaam

    Meet with your guide at the place of your stays and drive to Selous Game reserves, arrival in the afternoon at your camp where you participate into a boat Safari along the mighty Rufiji river, spot plenty of Hippos, Crocodiles and bird life. Later you proceed to Hippo camp for dinner and overnight.

  • Selous Game Reserve

    Explore the Selous game reserve and feel the ecosystems that UNESCO estimates upwards of 2,000 plant species, tons of animals that make their home here, including significant concentrations of elephants, cheetahs, hippopotamus, crocodiles and black rhinos.

  • Selous - Dar es salaam

    In the morning after breakfast go for a walking Safari escorted by an armed ranger, after lunch drive back to Dar es Salaam.
