Description

This safari is planned along the major tourism route from Uganda to Rwanda. It snakes through the leading tourist destinations in both countries and also offers lots of exciting inclusive activities and equally interesting optional activities. Top of the highlights on this trip are Murchison falls national park tour, Gorilla trekking in Bwindi, Mt. Bisoke hiking and optional activities around Lake Kivu.


  • Arrival in Uganda

    Today you will arrive at Entebbe airport and you will be welcomed by your safari guide. Depending on your time of arrival, you may have an optional city tour of Entebbe town. Entebbe was the colonialists’ administrative center and has many buildings that date over half a century ago.

    You may also choose to visit Entebbe botanical gardens or Uganda Wildlife Education centre (Entebbe Zoo).

  • Drive to Murchison falls National park, visit Ziwa rhinos

    This morning, you will drive to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a two-hour drive from Kampala, along the road on the way to Murchison Falls National Park. While you track the rhinos, look out for bush buck, leopard, Uganda kob, oribi and other wildlife present on the ranch.

    The bird life is abundant, with even the rare shoebill stork present in the Lugogo Swamps. On your way to the Murchison falls national park you will visit the "top of the falls" for your chance to view the magnificence of the Nile.

  • Morning game drive and afternoon boat ride

    After an early breakfast, proceed for a game drive and search for many animals and birds species. After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile. En-route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over this 17 km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. The boat will stop just tens of metres from the sinister, frothing and bubbling base of the falls.

  • Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

    All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. You will bypass many tea plantations and you may stop at any of them for numerous photo opportunities.

  • Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, evening boat ride on Kazinga Channel

    Early in the morning you will for on search for chimpanzees and 10 other primate including l hoestÂ’s monkeys, red colobus, red tailed and gray cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.

    Immediately after tracking you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward.

  • Game drives in Queen Elizabeth national park

    Early in the morning you will set out for a game drive in the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. Enjoy the search for more animals and birds in their serene environment. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and pick a packed lunch.

    You will head to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have another game drive in search of tree climbing lions.

  • Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park

    You will leave Ishasha sector and enjoy a game drive on your way out of the park. Enjoy the photographic drive through the beautiful Ugandan countryside to the ancient rainforests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

    You will drive through terraced hillsides dotted with traditional settlements. Expect to arrive at our picturesque accommodation on the edge of the forest in the evening.

  • Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

    Begin your gorilla trek in the early morning, and set off into the tangled and mist-shrouded forests with guides and trackers who are very experienced at locating the gorillas by finding the nest the family had used the previous night.

    Watching gorillas in their natural habitat is a memory that will last a lifetime. The experienced ranger guides will willingly share with you a lot of information about history and lifestyle of the Gorillas.

  • Drive to Musanze, city tour

    You will leave Bwindi impenetrable forest and drive across the border to Musanze town. Formerly known as Ruhengeri, Musanze town is the nearest to Volcanoes national park- the home of Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. You will take a brief tour around the town before retiring to your accommodation.

  • Hiking Mt Bisoke, drive to Gisenyi

    The mountain Bisoke adventure is one of the most memorable activities in Rwanda. The top of this Volcano has a spectacular crater lake. It is simply a 6 – hours hike including the 2 hours descending down to the starting point. Experienced hikers can get to the top of this mountain in a matter of 3 hours or even less and return to the base in about an hour. Upon descent, you will drive to Gisenyi border town.

  • Relaxing and optional activities in Gisenyi

    This will be your day to relax. However, there are numerous exciting activities you can opt to do on and around Lake Kivu. These include: a 1-hour boat ride on the lake, kayaking, biking along the lake shores or a visit to the fishing village. You will inform our guides prior so that the above activities can be can be arranged.

  • Drive to Kigali, city tour and departure

    After breakfast you will drive to Kigali city where you will have a city tour. Top on the Menu is Gisozi Genocide memorial. You will be guided around the museum and given an account of how events leading to the 1994 Rwanda Genocide transpired.

    The memorial is a resting place of thousands killed during the genocide and a reminder of the dark past that Rwanda endured. You will also visit a local market in town. After lunch you will be transferred to Kigali Airport to catch your flight back home.
