Description

During his tour you will experience Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, searching for lions and leopards in the trees, community and village walks.

  • Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today we head South West to Queen Elizabteh National Park. The drive takes us about 6/7 Hours, in the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant bird life that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari.

  • Game drive in Ishasha and then transfer to Bwindi

After a relaxed breakfast you will proceed to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, to the so called Ishasha area. Ishahsa is home to the famous tree-climbing lions. While lion cubs around the world frequently climb trees for fun, adults rarely do.

The adult lions in Ishasha are an exception to this. It is thought that they sit in the branches to get away from the tsetse flies and to enjoy a cool breeze. If you are lucky you might spot a few during your game drive. After which we continue to Buhoma.

  • Gorilla Trekking

The highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike; it may take two to eight hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas.

But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes.

  • Transfer to Kampala

After yesterdays thrilling gorilla trekking its time to head back to Kampala. Discuss with your tour guide the time you prefer to leave so that you arrive the city shortly before rush hour, along the way you have a chance to stop by the Equator and do some craft shopping and dont forget the Equator trick with the water.
