Selous Kinga Lodge is located on the scenic banks of the Rufiji River in a very close vicinity to the mighty Selous Game Reserve. The lodge is built on a game concession located only some few kilometers’ away from the ‘Mtemere Gate’ on the north-eastern side of the reserve. It is a proudly eco-friendly lodge which in order to harmonize with the environment, has been very unobtrusively designed and positioned on this privately owned piece of prime bush land bordering one of Africa’s top hotspots.

  • Flight Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

    You will depart by local flight from Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve which departs 0830 or 1030 or 1600 - on arrival transfer to the lodge. Afternoon boat safari on Rufiji River, dinner and overnight. Having a unique and desirable mix of bush and beach feeling to it, Selous Kinga Lodge is located on the scenic banks of the Rufiji River in a very close vicinity to the mighty Selous Game Reserve.

  • Jeep safari in Selous Game Reserve

    After breakfast full day game drive in a specially modified safari vehicle with a professional guide, in which you should see and learn much about a large number of animals, including all the great favorites – lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra – and all the other major species including the now rare African hunting dog. Great variety of bird species.

    Wonderful scenery, with varied topography: wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest and higher ground with long views to far-off mountains. Packed lunch and time to rest. Your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink – a place with a clear view all round so that no predator can creep up unseen! Back to the lodge by 6.30 for sunset and dinner when you’re ready.

  • Walking safari - Selous Game Reserve - Zanzibar

    Early morning foot safaris, looking for close encounters with all manner of big game or village visit - after lunch transfer to Mtemere airstrip for 15:00 flight to Zanzibar.
