Description

With its three volcanic cones including Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira, Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and rises approximately 4877 meters from its base to 5895 meters above sea level. The first recorded ascent to the summit of the mountain was by Hans Meyer and Ludwig Purtscheller in 1889. The mountain has been the subject of many scientific studies due to its shrinking glaciers. Lets take you to the highest peak of Africa.


  • Arusha - Lemosho - Mti mkubwa camp

    Pick you from your hotel after breakfast and drive to Londrosi gate for checking in and then later after the registration you will continue with the drive to the starting point of Lemosho route where you will start your ascent through the Mountain rain forest all the way to Mti mkubwa camp( Forest camp) 2785masl) For dinner and overnight.

  • Mti mkubwa camp - Shira 1

    After Breakfast you will start the second day leaving the rain forest and get into the second zone of the Mountain(Moorland/Heather zone, Lunch will be taken on the way and you will reach Shira one Camp(3504masl) after 5 to 6 hours of ascending. Dinner and Overnight at Shira 1 camp.

  • Shira 1 - Shira 2

    Day three is a short day and it will take you 4hours to reach Shira two camp(3895masl) for hot lunch, After lunch you will have some rest for couple of hours and then later in the afternoon you will do the acclimatization hike and then later you descend back to the camp for diner and overnight at Shira 2 camp.

    Note: On day 3 you can have an option of just stopping at Shira two camp just for lunch and then after Lunch you can continue to Moir Hut(4155Masl) for the better acclimatization. This can be discussed on the briefing day or with the guide on the mountain depending on how he will see your adaptation on the mountain.

  • Shira/Moir hut - Baranco camp

    Today, you will keep walking in Alpine desert. You will start by climbing over steep hills and very few rocks, then steady uphill climb to the lava tower(150 meters high volcanic plug that just outside of the mountain) and stop for lunch around noon. From lava tower, you will descend for about 2 hours through dust and rock trail to have overnight rest at Barranco Camp.

  • Baranco camp - Karanga camp

    Day five is another short day and it will take you 4 hours to reach Karanga camp (4100Masl), The hike will start by climb the very famous Baranco wall and then after wall you will cross some valley before reaching Karanga camp for hot Lunch. After lunch you will have some rest and then later in the afternoon you will do the acclimatization hike and then after the acclimatization hike you will descend to the Camp for Dinner and overnight.

  • Karanga camp - Barafu camp

    After breakfast you will continue with the hike for about 3 hours to Barafu camp (4600masl), where is the base camp. You will reach the camp for hot lunch and then after lunch you will get into your tents to try to get some sleep as you will be doing the final ascent to the summit(Uhuru peak). Diner will be served early as well so that you can go back to your tents to get more rest/sleep ready for the final ascent.

  • Barafu Hut - Uhuru Peak

    Day seven start at midnight or even before the midnight depending on how your guide will decide what time to start the final ascent, It will take you 6 to reach Stella point (5729masl) and from Stella point to Uhuru peak will take you 1 hour. Note that: Your guide will be the one to decide what time you need to spend on the summit, depending on how he sees your conditions Healthy wise.

    After the celebration and photos taking we are sure that you know that you are only half way of what you have been doing in the past 6 days, which means another game (Descending) will be waiting for you and you will descend to Barafu camp where your tents will be waiting for you, you will change your clothes and then pack you clothes and then after the packing you will get some food and after the meals you will continue with the descend to Mweka camp (3100masl) for dinner and overnight.

  • Mweka Hut - Mweka gate

    By now we are sure that you will probably just want to get roof the mountain as quick as possible, but that will happen after breakfast as well as farewell words to your crews who made your dream come true.After all that you will descend to Mweka gate where you will sign out and then certification for those who were able to reach the roof of Africa will be awarded, and then you will get into the vehicles and your driver will drive you to your hotel for a deserved Hot Shower.
