Africas largest protected area uninhabited by man, where Tanzanias greatest population of elephants wander in an area bigger than Switzerland! The Selous (pronounced “Seloo”) is considered important enough to be World Heritage Site, in which the lucky few can experience a safari in absolutely wild and unspoiled bush. Selous contains about one third of all the wild dogs (often called painted dogs), in the world.

  • Dar-es-salaam to Selous game reserve

    Morning at 0830hrs pickup from your hotel or from airport in Dar es Salaam and drive to Selous Game Reserve. You will have picnic lunch on the way and the journey will take about 5hours through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania.

    In the afternoon embark on boat safari, where youll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Meals and overnight will be at Hippo Camp. F/B.

  • Selous game drive

    Breakfast in your accommodation followed by full day game drives in the game reserve. Selous is a home to large population of elephant that big number of buffalo and wild dog seen.

    Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbuck, impala, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra, Kudus and Crocodile. Overnight at the Hippo camp. F/B.

  • Selous game reserve to Dar-es-salaam

    After breakfast, walking safaris, the most exciting experience unique in Tanzania, accompanied by rangers armed for about 2 hrs and with picnic drive back to Dar es salaam.
