Description

This is one of our best 2 day mini safaris from Kampala or Entebbe. This safari gives you a taste of the African wild in only two days It is about a 4 hours scenic drive that includes a visit to the Equator and the royal drum makers as you drive back to Kampala on the second day of your 2 day Mini Safari to Lake Mburo National Park.

  • Kampala- Lake Mburo NP

UgandaÂ’s smallest parks, but certainly not to be underestimated. It is the only Ugandan national park (besides Kidepo Valley National Park) which is home to zebra, eland and impala, as well as an abundance of other wildlife. The lake itself is full with hippos and crocodiles! You will arrive into the park, straight for the boat safari. During the boat safari you may spot Otters, Hippos, crocodiles and there are many birds that you can see such as the African fin foot, black headed weaver birds, different types of kingfishers and the African Fish Eagle.

After the boat safari, you will check into the lodge, have lunch and later go for a game drive where you can see Zebras, Giraffes, Eland and Topi Antelopes, Warthogs, Bush Pigs, Buffaloes and so much more From your veranda and restaurant you have a great view over the park and its wildlife. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight Journey Time: 4 hours.

  • Guided bush walk - Kampala

Lake Mburo National Park is one of two parks in Uganda where it is permitted to go for a bush walk with an experienced ranger. This opportunity should not be missed. From footprints and animal droppings the ranger will tell you which animal has left it and how long ago. It is exciting to approach the wildlife at such close range. Note: Instead of going for the bush walk, you can relax at your lodge or make a horseback riding safari in the park (US$ 70 p.p. for 2 hours).

After your morning activity, you will transfer back to Kampala with en route stopover at the Equator for lunch, photos and souvenir shopping. You will also stop at the royal drum makers where the tradition of Drum Making for the Kabaka has been going on for 300 years plus. You will arrive in Kampala during in the evening and return you to your hotel. Meal plan: Lunch You can combine this trip with Queen Elizabeth National park.
