You will begin this remarkable safari visiting the source of the Nile River and then head East and explore the Pian Upe Game Reserve and the Kidepo National Park. Kidepo will provide you with the real meaning of being in the wild! You will explore the Murchison Falls, Kibale National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park for exciting primate treks.   • Entebbe - Jinja

    Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by a Home to Africa driver/guide who will welcome you to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. The driver/guide will give you a briefing of your safari and then you will hit the road to Jinja where you will have dinner and your overnight stay at Source of the Smile.

  • The Nile River - Sipi Falls

    After breakfast you will check-out and go experience an exciting white water rafting trip at the source of the Nile. What better way to start your safari than to experience this most exciting, exhilarating, heart–pounding adventure firsthand? Get wet! Get wild!

    After white water rafting you will have lunch and then travel to the Sipi Falls. Along the way, be sure to look for the spectacular view of the Elgon Mountain, The natives this mountain Mount Masaba. Upon arrival to the Sipi Falls, you will check into Sipi River Lodge. Here you will enjoy dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Pian Upe Game Reserve

    You will rise early, have your breakfast, check-out of the lodge and then take off on an exciting game drive in the pristine Pian Upe Game Reserve. During this game drive you will have the chance to view hartebeest, cheetah, lion, zebra, buffalo and the greater kudu, This game drive will also allow you to see the only remaining numbers of antelope in the whole of Uganda.

    This reserve is also a good place to experience a large variety of birds including osstrich, hornbill, the white-headed buffalo-weaver and more. These birds can best be viewed at the Loporokocho swamp. After the game drive you will exit the Pian Upe reserve and head to the Kara-tunga Guesthouse where you will have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay.

  • Kidepo Valley National Park

    After breakfast you will check-out and head off to the Kidepo Valley National Park. You will reach the park early enough to check-in and have lunch at the Kidepo Savannah Lodge. After lunch you will head out for an afternoon game drive in the Narus Valley, south of the park. This is the section of Kidepo that has savannah grasslands mixed with acacia woodland.

    It is also the area of the park with permanent water sources throughout the year where most of the animals are found. During the hot afternoons many animals gather around the water sources. You can expect to see large herds of buffalo, zebra, antelope and lion. Later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Kidepo Valley National Park – Karamojong Village

    After breakfast you will embark on yet another game drive, this time heading to Kidepo Valley in the northern area. The biggest highlight in this area is the famous sand bed of River Kidepo that is a seasonal river that does not flow during the long dry spells. It is lined with lush Borassus palms, creating a sight akin to an oasis in a desert. Enjoy the sights and sounds of a variety birds in the Borassus palm. Be on the look for ostrich, leopard (if you are lucky) and tortoise along the way.

    You may choose to enjoy a packed lunch during the game drive or return to the lodge for lunch, some time to rest and then undertake the Karamojong community tour. On the community tour you will spend a wonderful evening with the Karamojong people learning about their way of life and their beliefs. At the end of the day you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Kidepo Valley National Park - Murchison Falls National Park

    After an early breakfast you will check-out and travel to Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids and the rolling plains of UgandaÂ’s largest National Park. Here you will have the chance of viewing lion, giraffe, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephant. You will be fascinated by the concentration of hippo and crocodiles.

    Murchison Falls boasts a wide variety of bird species including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf kingfisher, the hornbill, and the Goliath heron, among others. You will reach Murchison Falls National Park in the late afternoon where you will check into the Pakuba Safari Lodge, enjoy your meal and settle in for your overnight stay; awaiting the next dayÂ’s activities.

  • Murchison Falls National Park

    After breakfast you will depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of UgandaÂ’s largest National Park. Here you will have the opportunity of viewing lion, giraffe, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephant. This park also supports a large variety of birds including the secretary bird and the black chested snake eagle just to name a few.

    You will return to your accommodation for lunch and then head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will see more animals including hippo, crocodile and several water birds. After the boat trip you will take a hike (if you like) to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable! Later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Murchison Falls - Kibale Forest National Park

    After breakfast you will check-out and either drive to the top of the falls for the spectacular views of the falls or leave for the Kibale Forest National Park. The drive is incredibly scenic, passing through villages, lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations characterized as part of Uganda. The Kibale Forest National Parkis a popular destination for primates including chimpanzee, colobus monkey, grey cheeked mangabey and red tailed monkey.

    On the chimpanzee trails the primates are regularly seen swinging in the trees and feeding on the wild fruit. You will reach the Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse in the later afternoon where you will check-in, have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay.

  • Kibale Forest National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park

    After an early breakfast you will head to the primate trekking point where you will receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts during the trek. You will then proceed on the trek looking for the chimps in the Kibale Forest. An experienced ranger guide will take you to marvel the sights of primates. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour to experience these amazing animals.

    After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch, After lunch you will check-out and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will check-in at the The Bush Lodge. Here you will have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay.

  • Queen Elizabeth National Park - Kazinga Channel

    Today you will rise early, have breakfast and then head out on an early morning game drive through the park with magnificent views of the plains, valleys, terraced hills and abundance of wild animals including reedbuck, bushbuck, kob, warthog, elephant, lion, buffalo and so much more. You will then return to the lodge where you will eat lunch and then take off on a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, a water stream joining Lake Edward and Lake George.

    The channel attracts a large school of hippo and Nile crocodile, together with a variety of birds that flock the reed shores, including pelican, kingfisher, saddle billed stork and sometimes the crowned crane. Later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    After breakfast you will check-out and set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famously known for its resident tree-climbing lion. The chance of spotting this majestic creature is about 70% though sometimes they are really hard to spot. The sighting will be spectacular! Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a large habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda.

    The park harbors an estimated 400 mountain gorillas, roughly half of the worldÂ’s population and several habituated groups, which can be tracked. With a strenuous day ahead, you will check-in at the Broadbill Forest Camp where you will settle in for the night, have dinner and turn in early, in preparation for the gorilla trekking experience the following day.

  • Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

    After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for an adventure of a lifetime. The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular and offers dramatic steeply forested and incredibly dense landscape that is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The trek time and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you locate a gorilla group you will be allowed an hour in their presence.

    The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome and exciting experience to be long savored. You will return to your lodge for some time to rest and have lunch. After lunch you will check-out and travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park where you will check into the Travelers Rest to relax, have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay.

  • Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - Lake Bunyonyi

    After breakfast you will check-out and take off for the Batwa trail experience. For generations, the Mgahinga dense forest has been home to the indigenous Batwa (hunter/gatherer and fierce warriors) who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine. Now they lead visitors through the forest and introduce them to their old home and the techniques they used to survive. The remarkable trail unveils the hidden historical secret of the Batwa people, their true cultural background and the famous traditional owners of the hilly forested areas.

    After this tour you will travel to Lake Bunyonyi for some time of relaxation enjoying the stunning views of the Bunyonyi little islands. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills. ItÂ’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make the area the most magical. You will settle in at the Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Lake Bunyonyi - Entebbe Airport

    After a relaxing breakfast you will check-out and embark on your return journey to Entebbe. You can expect some stopovers in Mbarara Town for lunch and the Uganda Equator line in Kayabwe for some memorable photos and maybe buying some souvenirs.

    You will arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon/evening for your drop off at the airport. This is where your safari will end.We recommend for a late afternoon/evening outbound flight schedule - if flying out on this day.
