Description

Come and explore all the highlights of Tanzania and the Serengeti, following the path of the Great Migration. This 12-day Tour includes plenty of “wilderness time“ enjoying the real African feeling, immersing yourself in nature!

You will camp in public campsites in the National Parks enjoying daybreak with a delicious cup of coffee or tea, seeing and hearing Africa come alive. Join us on this 12-days Nature Camping Safaris with the comfort of stand high tents, stretcher-beds and matrasses.

  • Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha National Park

Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro Airport our driver/guide will drive you to Arusha National Park. You will check-in at the Momella Public Campsite where your driver/guide will give you a short introduction and explanation of the details of your Tour as the campsite tents are set up.

If your flight arrives after 3pm, it will not be possible to drive to the campsite in Arusha National Park. You will need to overnight at a lodge in Arusha (this lodging is not included in the Tour price).

  • Arusha National Park

After breakfast you will start the day with a beautiful nature walk with an armed ranger; enjoying the impressive flora and fauna of this area, with waterfalls and huge fig trees. The walk takes about 2-4 hours. Walking safaris can be as short or as long as desired.

You will return to camp for a hot lunch and then take off on a evening game drive, spotting wildlife while enjoying the spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Kilimanjaro, waterfalls, lakes, swamps and steep cliffs. Driving around the Momella Lakes in the southeastern part of the park.

The park is home to many varieties of smaller game as well as giraffe, elephant, Black and White Colobus monkey, water buffalo and over 400 species of birdlife.

Alternatively, in consultation with your guide, you can choose to do an optional excursion (at additional costs): a walk to Meru’s Summit or a Canoe Safari. At the end of the day you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Arusha National Park - Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast you will check-out of camp and begin your drive to Lake Manyara National Park with a stopover at Mto Wa Mbu, where you will spend an hour or two discovering this busy town. You’ll learn more about the life of the Maasai and the 100 or so other cultural groups living in this area.

You will visit plantations, local craftsmen, taste banana beer in an authentic bar and walk past the many market stalls with local produce. Lunch is served by a cheerful Tanzanian “mamma” who will delight you with tasty local dishes.

Then it’s on to an exciting safari in Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival the group will set up camp in a beautiful restful site in the heart of the park at Endabash Public Campsite. Here you will settle in, have dinner and then turn in for the night.

  • Lake Manyara National Park

Before breakfast you will take part in a sunrise game drive in the calm early morning and with a little bit of luck, you will experience a beautiful sunrise over the lake with an abundance of flamingoes and hopefully spot lion close-bye.

After this exciting drive you will return to camp for breakfast and some time to rest and relax. After the midday heat you will take another game drive on a different route. At this time of day most animals are making their way down to the river for a much-needed drink … and at this time of day, the famous Manyara lion may be spotted in the trees!

Alternatively, in consultation with your guide, you may choose to do an optional excursion (additional costs): a night game drive, a guided walk or the Tree-Top walkway. Later in the evening you will return to Endabash Public Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast you will check-out and take a lunchbox with you as you travel to the Serengeti National Park passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This drive will give you a spectacular panoramic view over the crater rim, hundreds of meters below.

Today is an adventurous safari day as a large part of this travel route is straight across the centre of the Serengeti National Park, the area of the Seronera River. Later in the evening you will arrive at the Lobo Public Campsite where you will settle in, have dinner and then turn in for the night.

  • Northeast Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will take off for a full day to explore this part of the Serengeti. The route follows the migration of the animals on the plains along the shores of the Mara River. Crocodiles are waiting for wildebeest who risk the crossing.

With good planning and a bit of luck, you will be witnessing a spectacle that is hard to put into words. Watching the crossing and hearing all the sounds is an impressive experience that you will never forget! This is also the area where you are sure to see a hunter like a hyena, cheetah, lion or leopard waiting for a meal of their own.

If you’re lucky you might even spot a leopard climbing a yellow acacia tree! This part of the Serengeti has beautiful scenery and you can drive here for hours without seeing another car. You will return to Lobo Public Campsite later in the evening for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Northeast Serengeti National Park - Central Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast and with a packed lunch in hand, you will check-out and depart for the Central Serengeti plains. This full day game drive will consume a large part of the day as you travel through the Lobo Reserve. This remote area of the Serengeti is somewhat off the beaten track.

A less visited area but one that will allow you to experience the real wilderness with rocky outcrops. After lunch you will head for the Central Serengeti area on a beautiful drive through a magnificent changing landscape. You will arrive at the Seronera Public Campsite in the evening where camp will be set up, dinner will be served and then you will turn in for the night.

  • Cental Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will take off on a full day game drive in the Serengeti! The drive will take you along the shores of the Seronera River and Mara River, finding unforgettable moments and a glimpse of wild animals including wildebeest crossing the river, a hunting cheetah, lion or any other predator as well as the magnificent view of the silhouette of a giraffe on the horizon.

You will have a chance to see crocodile waiting for an animal to come to the shore for a drink or to cross the river and ambush them. You will enjoy areas that are not known to the greater public and are therefore perfect for an experience off the beaten path. Today’s route follows the presence and migration of the animals on the plains. Later in the evening you will return to the Seronera Public Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Central Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

You will rise early and depart for an unforgettable morning game drive. At sunrise, while the bush is awakening and still peaceful, the carnivores are out in hunting mode. You are on their trail to once again be observers of another natural spectacle. At midday you will return to camp to enjoy a delicious brunch.

You will then check-out and leave for your next campsite on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater. Optional activities (at an additional costs): a visit to a Maasai Boma where you will experience how semi-nomadic communities continue to live according to their age-old traditions. Later in the evening you will check-in at the Simba Public Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Ngorongoro Crater - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will depart for an unforgettable game drive in the famous Ngorongoro Crater. You will wind your way down into the caldera with the most breathtaking views along the way. Armed with your guide’s years of experience and his ‘eagle-eyes’, you might encounter a solitary rhino or the chance encounter with an active pride of lion at close quarters.

At the hippo pool you will enjoy all the sights and sounds of the lazy hippos enjoying a wallow in the cool water and a mud-bath. You will ascend back up the crater rim and return for a hot lunch at your campsite, check-out and then travel to the Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival you will check-in at the Tarangire Public Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will take off on another game drive in the park, observing elephants, sometimes very close to the campsite as they gather near the river.

Your game drive will take you to Larmaku Swamp, a large swamp where you can find elephant and other animals, cooling down in the water and sheltering themselves from the sun in the shadows of the acacia trees. Later in the evening you will return to Tcamp for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Tarangire National Park - Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast and depending on your itinerary we will drive you to a lodge in Arusha, the Arusha Airport (for domestic flights) or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight home. This is where your safari will end.
