The 2 day gorilla tour takes you to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park one of the most renowned destinations for mountain gorilla trekking in the world. It takes you through a city tour and then to Volcanoes National Park northwestern Rwanda where over 10 groups have been habituated. The park also offers refuge to some other faunal specie such as bush bucks, black fronted duikers, buffaloes as well as over 200 bird species, 13 and 16 of these are limited to the Virunga and Rwenzori Massifs.

  • Departure from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

    Get up early enough and have breakfast at your respective hotel in Kigali and later set off for city tour in Kigali capital where you pay a visit to Kigali genocide memorial site to explore in depth about the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Besides, there are also some birds for you to look out within Kigali and they are equally amazing for you to explore. After, drive to northwest to Volcanoes National Park for about 2 to 3 hours while enjoying the outstanding sceneries and rolling hills which make this country a Land of a Thousand Hills.

    Your packing list for this lifetime primate experience must include insect repellent, sunscreen, camera, snacks, water, hiking boots that are waterproof, bottled water and others. On arrival at the park, check in at Mount Gorilla View Lodge-Luxury, Hotel La Palme-Standard or Muhabura Hotel for budget visitors.

  • Gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park and drive back to Kigali

    Early in the morning after your breakfast, you join other visitors for briefing on dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. From here, you will be assigned to only one habituated gorilla family to track in a group of 8 visitors and every group will be allocated a park guide. You are given only one hour to have a face to face encounter with these amazing creatures, explore their behavior, take pictures and after, return to the lodge to check out and then drive back to Kigali. This will mark the end of your 2 day gorilla safari in Rwanda.
