Transfer to Kibale National Park
Today you start drive to Kibale national park in western Uganda. You will go through the countryside past the present colorful fruit and vegetable roadside markets. The drive to the Fortportal for lunch stopover is about 4 hours from Kampala after a quick short city tour.
Lunch will be in Fortportal – the tourism capital of Uganda with great weather, evergreen surrounding, and beautiful landscape of Mt Rwenzori and numerous crater lakes.

Trekking Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest
After a well-rested night at your lodge and an early breakfast, the driver guide picks you for the Chimp trekking experience in the jungles of Africa. You will briefed by a ranger guide on how you are expected to conduct yourself while in the forest and when you locate the chimps. No flash photography is allowed and you are advised to maintain silence not to point directly at the chimps. Often you will find the chimps either resting, feeding or grooming each other with the young ones running all over the place.
After an amazing experience with the chimps in the morning, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary – a community initiative toward conservation of Kibale forest. The wetland is home to an abundance of life from butterflies, plants, animals and spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders.

After a relaxed morning and breakfast at leisure, we start journey to Kampala or Entebbe. Our hope is that you had an amazing time in Uganda’s countryside watching the Chimps in their home.
