Meriakamba Hut
You will be picked up in Arusha and driven to Momela Gate. After a short registration at the gate your walk up the mount will begin with an armed ranger escorting you. On your walk, you will see a variety of wild animals including elephant, zebra, giraffe, monkey, antelope along the route. Later in the evening you will travel to the Miriakamba Hut for dinner and your overnight stay.

Saddle Hut
After breakfast you will begin the steep walk from Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut just below Little Meru. The walk will take you slowly along the ridge for a spectacular view of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone. After a hot lunch at Saddle Hut you can take a short climb to the summit of Little Meru for superb views just before sunset. You will return to the hut for dinner and your overnight stay.

Summit Day
You will rise very early, around 1:30am, and begin the steep climb to Rhino Point and on to Cobra Point. You will reach the summit for sunrise with a possible view of Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridge line between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater.
You will then descend back down and have a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to Momella Gate where your ride will be waiting to pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Arusha. This is where your safari will end.
