Discover wilds of Murchison Falls National Park from the comfort of your private air conditioned 4x4 vehicle, complete with pop-top roof for wildlife viewing. Allowing you to truly experience the savannah with ease to seek out the Big five wildlife species, explore the river Nile on a water safari and meet a chimp family in a Mahogany tree rainforest!


  • Savannah game drive in Murchison Falls National Park

    You’ll be collected from your chosen pick up point in Entebbe (or Kampala) to drive north for 4 - 5 hours to reach the river Nile as it crashes down Karuma Falls where you can stop off for lunch. Then cross over the river and enter Murchison Falls NP through Chobe gate. Begin your game drive in the Chobe sector of the park where the landscape is dominated by Acacia trees.

    This is a prime spot to look for towers of Rothschild giraffe grazing under the shaded canopy of the Acacia woodland. You will continue your game drive into the heart of park where the landscape turn to rolling savannah plains dotted by Palmyra palms.

    Spend the remainder of the day exploring the delta game circuits, where you will find the highest concentration of wildlife with the chances to seek out lions, elephants and game herds of Jackson’s hartebeest, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs and Uganda kob. As the sun begins to set youll cross the river Nile to reach your lodge perched on the river banks.

  • River Nile water safari & game drive

    Explore the Buligi game tracks with a Uganda Wildlife Authority guide, to give your highest chance of tracking down the savannah predators, such as the lions and if your lucky the illusive leopard! Of course you will also be able to spot the Rothschild giraffe, elephants, buffalo, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda kob, warthog and waterbuck.

    After lunch at your riverside lodge, embark on a water safari on the river Nile to the base Murchison Falls. This trip offers fantastic great to spot Nile crocodiles, hippo pods and a multitude of bird species. Elephants, waterbuck, and buffalo, also come to cool off in the heat of the day. After 3 hours youll be able to view the thundering waterfall, as the river surges through a 7 metre wide gap in the rock face and falling a 43 meter drop.

    You will then return back downstream and drive back to your lodge, to watch the sunset across the water. Optional add-on: Hike to the top of the waterfall for fantastic views for an additional $15 per person.

  • Meet a chimp family in Budongo rainforest

    Rise early to track the chimps in Kaniyo-Pabidi rainforest part of Budongo Forest reserve, which is home to 9 species of primate, as well as the Mahogany trees which can grow up to 80 meters in height! The forest is also home to more then 600 chimps, of which a family of 80 individuals has been habituated, with an 80% successful tracking rate. With your ranger guiding you it should take around three to complete the tracking.

    Once youve found the chimps amongst the dense rainforest, spend an intimate hour with them, watching them play, eat, socialise and display their prowess. You will then drive out of the Murchison Falls NP and drive south to reach your lodge nestled amongst the African bush in the grounds of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you can unwind after your early morning start and hike in the rainforest. Relax at your comfortable chalet, at the lodge lounge area or by the swimming where you can take a drip to cool off from the heat of the day.

  • Walking safari to track the rhinos

    This morning seek out the rhinos living in the safety of this semi wild reserve. Trek over the grassland and through the African bush with a knowledgeable ranger to visit Uganda’s most endangered creature, the Southern White Rhino. Your ranger will be able identify each individual and tell you about their characteristics, as well as give information on the effort recover Uganda’s rhino population. 

    This is the only place in Uganda where the rhino survives and breed with the hopes of one day being introduced to Murchison Falls NP. After a lunch at your lodge it will be time to leave Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Drive south passing villages, farmland and many roadside markets selling a variety of tropical fruits you may wish to stop off the sample.

    You will reach your chosen drop off location in Kampala in the late afternoon or your driver can take you onto Entebbe to your drop off location there. Add-on: Track the Shoebill stork in the sanctuary grounds for an additional $25 per person.
