Description

In this short safari youll get a taste of the best Uganda has to offer, with animals of the savanna and primates of the forest. Youll see elephants, buffaloes, hippos and search for lions as well as trek chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest. If you are short on time this is a great option for getting a lot out of your safari.

  • Arrival to Uganda

Be met by your safari guide at Entebbe international airport for the start your Primates & savanna Uganda safari. This first day you are taken to our guest home in Kampala to relax after the flight and be ready for an early start tomorrow. Take in the first sights of Uganda as you transfer from Entebbe.

  • Transfer to Kibale Forest national park,

Early transfer - Swift out of the city, it’s around a 5hrs drive with our target to have lunch in Fortportal town and proceed for an evening around in the Tropical forest. Pressure and fatigue is lessened as a punctuation of stopovers at sceneris, typical African village setup in the far countryside and tea plantations along the drive offer us chances of stretching.

When entering the Kibale area we keep our eyes open since there is an amazing display of primates in this area. Monkey species that can be seen are for example black and white colobus, red colobus, red tailed monkey and grey cheeked mangabeys.

  • Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest (or chimpanzee habituation experience option)

Head into the forest of the Primate city of Kibale in the morning for chimpanzee trekking. This is a three hour experience. As an option you can upgrade to participating in Chimpanzee habituation, where you get to follow the chimps for the whole day, a truly exclusive experience (this is an optional activity that is not included in the stated price. Inform us when booking if you wish to do the habituation).

Kibale Forest national park is a rainy forest and a home to over 1500 Chimpanzees. Here you have the chance to see the chimps close up and capture shots of our closet cousins in the jungle in there frenzy exciting moods as they are grooming, building relationships, bringing up young ones, think and sharing food, plus rare bird species following them.

In the forest 9 different species of Monkeys are found so you have chances of seeing red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies on a great day. After the trek your guide picks you and take you back to the lodge.

  • Game-drive and boat-cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Experience Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning, an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals, Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs- Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents to this park are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along.

There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland spots as we reach the Flamingos in the salt lakes. After lunch get ready for the Classic highlights on the 2hrs Boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel. This 36kms channel links Lake George and Lake Edward.

Here you can see land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning, Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks and Savannah version of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba are a hallmark sign in this Animal. With your Binoculars along the peninsula you have a magnificent view of Birds and animals like the ever playing African Elephants in Waters.

  • Game-drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Start the day with the journey to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP known for tree-climbing lions. Here you go for a game-drive to see topis, buffaloes, elephants and hopefully lions high in the fig-tree branches. After the game-drive we continue on to the mountains of Bwind.

This journey offers stunning views as we transfer from a landscape of savanna, via cultivated hills to the forest covered mountains of Bwindi. (If we reach early we can do a walk and mix with the locals).

  • Gorilla trekking day- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the gorillas, and here you will have the highlight of gorilla trekking. In the morning you head into the jungle in a group with a specialized guide and trek up to the point where the gorillas are. You then get to spend one hour with these gentle giants.

This Impenetrable Forest is as well full of birds, butterfly and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and dikers. After the trek your guide picks you and make the drive to Lake Bunyonyi, which is offers beautiful scenic nature and a chance for a swim (safe here since there is no bilharzia)
