Inside the plain, a short belt of acacia wood serves as a refuge for the legendary lions of Manyara, often perched on the branches of trees, and elephants with impressive tusks. Manyara also provides a first quality contact with the ornithological fauna of Tanzania. More than 400 species have been recorded here: the thousands of flamingos in their perpetual migrations and several other water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and all sorts of waders.

This caldera of 20km diameter and 600m deep is a true wild paradise. The few tracks allow to observe almost all the wildlife.

The spectacle of this immense circle is fairytale: below, the bottom of the crater is an immense savanna, encompassing a forest and a lake where grazing and live multiple wild animals and their predators. Unique place, which was created to protect wildlife, and let the Masai population coexist in this territory. The crater is classified as World Heritage by Unesco, and this gigantic caldera is home to one of the largest animal concentrations in the world. The majority of the large mammals of the Serengeti are represented there, where one is most likely to observe black rhinoceros. In the middle of the afternoon, departure for our charming camp of the Serengeti.

  • Safari Day in the Serengeti National Park

The camp is located in the great plains of the Serengeti, in the middle of the savanna. Near the camp snakes the river Seronera which drinks all the year the animals living in this area of ??the park. Predators are numerous to watch for their preys that come to drink there. The solitary leopards perch on the acacias along the river, the lions prefer the rocks to rest in the shade. Serengeti is one of the largest in Tanzania (14763 km²).

The name Serengeti is derived from the name Masai Siringet, meaning endless plains. It is in this part that the great migration, unique phenomenon in the world, spends part of the year, in search of freshly grown grass, rich in calcium. The migration of some 2 million animals is observable from December to mid-June, and in February the calving takes place.
