Description

This package shows you more of Kenya. More than just the popular safari parks. We start you off by visiting various beautiful places in the west of Kenya and then finish our adventure with safari

Kisumu is the third largest city in Kenya and Kakamega forest is the only tropical rain forest found in Kenya. The highlight of this Tour will be the interaction with local guides in the communities including the Maasai people. Our local guides are carefully selected by our local, Kenyan staff.

  • Nairobi to Kisumu

Upon pick up at your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we will transfer you to the airport to catch a flight to Kisumu. Upon arrival at Kisumu International Airport, our team will pick you up then transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight. An optional sundowner trip to The Kit Mikay can be organized.

  • Lake Victoria Tour and Kisumu town

Today we will have a sunrise boat trip on Lake Victoria, later have a guided Tour of Kisumu town. Kisumu is the third largest city in Kenya and a port city on Lake Victoria. After local lunch, we will have an afternoon guided Tour at the Kisumu Museum and the Maasai Market.

  • Kisumu to Kakamega Forest

After an early morning breakfast, we will drive to Kakamega forest. This is the only tropical rain forest in Kenya. Flora found in the park include some of Africas greatest hard and soft woods: Elgon teak, red and white stinkwood and several varieties of croton and aniageria altisima.

There are 380 recorded species of plants. This includes 60 species of ferns, 150 species of trees and shrubs, and 170 species of flowering plants including 60 species of orchids with 9 species found only in this forest.

  • Kakamega Forest to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges.

Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives. The lake’s level dropped dramatically in the early 1990s but has since largely recovered. In 2013, the lake received an alarming increase in the water levels that led to the migration of flamingos to Lake Bogoria in search for food supply.

  • Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

Today we will drive to Lake Naivasha. We will have a guided Tour at the Cresent Island including a boat ride. “Crescent Island Game Park”. Located on Lake Naivasha, Kenya in the Great Rift Valley. It is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is Naivasha’s best-kept secret. The shores host abundant birdlife including pelicans, cormorants, and fish-eagles with their haunting cry.

The park is not fenced to allow the wildlife on the mainland to come in as they lose their habitat to development and the ever-increasing population. Hippo graze all over us at night then sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day. The giraffe who were born on the Island return to give birth; sometimes you see three generations at a time.

Hyena come to hunt at night but are not resident on the island, the many python who do live here can be seen occasionally with a kill. Groups of Buffalo come and go but they are always monitored.

  • Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara

After breakfast we drive to Masai Mara, arrive in time for lunch then afternoon game drive. Masai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves.

Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms AfricaÂ’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.

  • Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Today we will have a Full day game drive with packed lunch provided. Masai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. Add the conservancies and the area is at least twice the size.

It hosts over 95 species of mammals and over 570 recorded species of birds. This is the World Cup of Wildlife, and together with the Serengeti National Park there is no better place to witness the best wildlife viewing in the world.

  • Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Wake up at 6am for a sunrise game drive in Mara, drive back to accommodation for breakfast then drive to back to Nairobi. Have lunch en-route. Drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel.
