Description

This Tour will take you from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to Quirimba Island its a mixture of Safari and beach. Its overland with 4by4 Safari Jeep. Then flying from Pemba Mozambique to Dar es Salaam. Safari in Selous then Kilwa Masoko, Mikindani ancient Village with ful ofl history, Mosimbua da Praia via Mueda, see Pangane lovely coastline then Tandahangue village by dhow to Ibo Island.


  • Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

    Morning depart to Selous Game Reserve with picnic lunch, the journey will take 5hours. Late afternoon, boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River, brings you into close contact with hippo, crocodile and fantastic birds-life. Animals make their way to the river to drink and boats may approach elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, water buck and other wild animals on the river banks to within a few meters.

    Crocodile glide into the water as your boat approaches and hippo appear in frightening proximity, grunting and blowing steam game drive till sunset, enjoy African savanna sunset then drive back to the lodge ready for dinner and overnight will be at Selous Kinga Lodge or similar.

  • Selous Game Reserve Game Drive with 4WD Jeep

    You will have a full day in the Selous Game Reserve exploration of the Reserve by 4 wheel drive vehicle; will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park. The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometer.

    Selous is famous for its elephants, commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bush buck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus. It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but shyer than the Northern Parks. Dinner and overnight will be at Selous Kinga Lodge or similar.

  • Selous Game Reserve to Kilwa: Ruins of Golden Age

    After breakfast walking safaris, the most exciting experience and unique in Tanzania, accompanied by armed rangers for 2hrs then transfer to Kilwa: Kilwa Masoko, Kilwa Kiswani and Kilwa Kivinje. Kilwa Kiswani, an island inhabited since the ninth century, till now bears the evidence of a great Swahili civilization, Kilwa Kivinje is a running down fishing town where you can see crumbling German colonial building; Kilwa Masoko is where all the accommodation is at the present, along with the a couple of beautiful beaches.

    Beautiful beaches come as standard issue along this part of the coast. Those who are interested in the history of Kilwa could do worse than spend an hour or two wondering around Kivinje and checking out the remains of the German colonial period. You will arrive in noon you will be able to do many activities as you can since they are optional or you can choose simple relax at the beach, Dinner and overnight at Kilwa Ruins Lodge or similar.

  • Kilwa Masoko to Mikindani Village Mtwara

    After breakfast enjoy the beach relax till noon then drive through countryside along the coast transfer to Mikindani Village lies in the very south of Tanzania. The area is still wonderfully undeveloped, showing Tanzania at its unspoilt best. The original Inhabitants of Mikindani were the Makonde Tribe who were joined in the 9th Century AD by Arab traders.

    A further influx of Arabs occurred in the 17th century under the Sultan Seyyid Said, the graves, former salve market, former Bank, house used by Dr. Livingstone when was in mikindani and mosques from this period can be seen near your hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at Old Boma Hotel.

  • Mikindani Village Mtwara Tanzania to Mocimboa de Praia Mozambique

    Morning after breakfast drive further on the coast till next to the River Ruvuma at Kilambo Boarder for Immigration formalities then cross into Mozambique though Kilambo Namoto Ferry. On the other side of the river Also Immigration formalities at Namoto Boarder then drive to Mosimbua da Praia via Palma. Mosimbua is an important dhow port in the north of Mozambique.

    There are little villages nestled among coconut groves and idyllic beaches along the way. You will see the trade markets and dhow port near your hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at Chez Natalie Bandas /Complexo Ilha Vumba.

  • Mocimboa de Praia: Beach or Market Walk or Sailing

    After breakfast enjoy the beach or walk to the trade markets and learning more about this country, which is one of Africa’s biggest kept secrets. Optional you can hire a sailing boat to cross the bay into the other side where there is nice and clean water for snorkeling or just relax at the nice and quite beach there till afternoon then cruise back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at Chez Natalie Bandas /Complexo Ilha Vumba.

  • Mocimboa de Praia to Pangane or Guludo Beach

    Morning after breakfast, drive to Pangane Beach via Macomia Town then turn left to Mucojo Village about 45kilimiters. Pangane Village its situated north of Pemba on a beautiful palm fringed, sandy peninsula. Access is by 4x4 only or by boat from the islands. Pangane has a lovely coastline, white sands, azure waters and isolation.

    Its near to Qurimbas Archipelago so there so many marine activities one can do, e.g. diving, snorkeling, Deep sea fishing, village walk or simple relax at the beach. All the hotels are staying in close proximity to a working fishing village. Dinner and overnight will be at Messano Flower Lodge / Guludo Beach Lodge.

  • Pangane Beach or Guludo Beach

    Morning after breakfast you can choose to participate in sea activities e.g. snorkeling, Diving, beach walk, Village walk, deep sea fishing or choose to relax at the beach in the hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at Messano Flower Lodge / Guludo Beach Lodge.

  • Pangane Beach or Guludo Beach to Ibo Island

    After breakfast we transfer to Tandahangue village to take a dhow to Ibo Island. Ibo Island lies in the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique. Nominated for World Heritage status Ibo has been described as one of the most unique and atmospheric islands in the world.

    Ibo Island was once a prosperous trading post, but today many of the colonial houses have been abandoned, and are crumbling beyond repair. Walking along wide roads lined with grand, old mansions is almost like stepping back 200 years in time. Dinner and overnight will be at Miti Miwiri Lodge / Baobibo ILHA DO IBO.

  • Ibo Island

    Today you will spend at Ibo Island. A Tour which will lead you to explore the heart of the village, with its ancient ruins, the magnificent Colonial Portuguese Architecture, its forts and fortress and its palaces still preserved, A Tour that will allow the power of imagination to rebuild the greatness and the prestige of Ibo Island in its past time. For those who want to adventure out on an unforgettable walk, we strongly recommend the Quirimba’s walk as being the best choice.

    Accompanied by a local guide, you will cross walk the sea at low tide to the neighborhood island. It is a spectacular journey through the mangroves. Crossing the Quirimba’s Channel you will reach Quirimba Island, where you can enjoy a brief Tour of the island until the high tide brings the sea back and allows you, powered by the wind, to return on Ibo.

  • Ibo Island to Pemba Town

    Morning after breakfast take a boat back to Tandahangue where you will meet your driver and vehicle then transfer to Pemba, the centre of Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique, is the world’s third largest port and has a long tradition of fishing and commerce inherited by the Arabs as far back as 800 years ago.

    Until the end of the 19th century, the most important commerce of the region was the ivory trade as well as the capture and export of slaves, first by Arabs and later by Portugese colonialists. Dinner and overnight at The Nautilus Pemba at the Wimbe beach.

  • Pemba Airport in Mozambique to Dar es Salaam Airport in Tanzania

    After breakfast relax at the beach till noon then transfer to Pemba Airport in time for your schedule flight at around afternoon back to Dar es Salaam.End of Tour.
