The Mikumi floodplain with its open grassland dominates the park together with the mountain ranges that borders the park in two sides. Park provides excellent opportunity to view diverse number of animals and birds in a short period of time without too much of driving around. The wildlife viewing experience in this park can be experienced right upon entering the park where you can encounter Baboons, Zebras and Impalas etc.

  • Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

    Depart from Dar es Salaam at 0800am drive directly to Mikumi by 4x4 safari Jeep, Arrival in the Park after 4 hours depending on the traffic on the highway, lunch at Morongoro Town then drive into Mikumi National Park.

    Game drive till late in the evening, you will be able to see many animals like Elephant, Giraffe, Lions, Antelopes and many more. Mikumi National Park provides excellent opportunity to view diverse number of animals and birds in a short period of time without too much of driving around, dinner and overnight at the Camp Bastian Mikumi or similar.

  • Mikumi National Park Full-Day Game Drive

    After breakfast full day game drive in the park, see the beauty of Mikumi national Park. The wildlife viewing experience in this park can be experienced right upon entering the park where you can encounter Baboons, Zebras and Impalas just to mention a few, you will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi Giraffes that naturalists say seem to be a cross breed between reticulated and Maasai Graffes.

    Lions can be easily sported in this park. Game drive around the park trail leads you to the hippo pool, which is the best visited during the late afternoons as the distant setting sun and the bobbing hippos heads create perfect pictures there after sporting the wallowing Buffalos at the Mkata flood plains and Elephants congregating near the water hole, drive back to your lodge dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian Mikumi or similar.

    After early breakfast, sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park, having a chance to see many animals for example Buffalos, Lions, Elephants, Zebras, Antelopes, Wildebeests and many more.
