Experience a safari in the absolutely wild and unspoiled bush of the Selous Game Reserve. This reserve is less frequented by Tourists and is the largest protected wildlife area in Tanzania. At about 54,600km² and with an altitude of between 110–1250m, it covers 6% of Tanzania’s landmass. It has the finest unspoiled virgin bush, over 1,700 botanical species and is one of the least scientifically researched areas in Africa.


  • Dar es Salaam - Selous

    You have will have a meet and greet in Dar es Salaam and then drive with a lunch box in hand to the Selous Game Reserve. After an approximately five hour drive you will arrive and go on a boat safari in the Rufjii River, which winds its way more than 250km from its source in the highlands through the Selous to the sea. The river is home to hippos and crocodiles, which you may spot if you are lucky!

  • Selous Game Reserve

    After breakfast you will depart on a full day game drive with a lunch box in hand. Selous boasts a large population of elephants as well as buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and the endangered wild dog. Also commonly seen are lions, bushbuck, impala, warthogs, ostrich, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra, hyena, kudu, the rare sable antelope, and leopard.

    There are also more then 400 species of birdlife, including the fish eagle, kingfisher, secretary bird, sunbird, hammer kop, red and yellow billed stork, open bill stork, weavers, water birds, marabou stork, vultures, etc.

  • Selous - Mikumi

    After breakfast you will depart for Mikumi via Morogoro with a lunchbox in hand. Enjoy the lovely, breathtaking scenery of the Uluguru Mountains and visit small local villages and farms along the way. After an approximately eight-hour drive, you will check in to your lodge.

  • Mikumi National Park

    Mikumi is home to many animals, including elephants, velvet monkeys, baboons, giraffes, buffalos, zebras and Thomson gazelles. If you’re lucky, you might see a pride of lions ramble around or relax under the shade of an acacia umbrella tree. You may also visit a hippo pool or other attractions.

  • Mikumi - Dar es Salaam

    After breakfast, drive to Dar es Salaam with lunch lunch. Approximately 6 hr drive. Drop of to either Hotel, Airport or Seaport.
