Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at 0800am and drive on tarmac road 120km to Tarangire National Park (2,850 sq km or 1,005 sq mile’s) for the afternoon game viewing in the park, a home to Lion, Leopard, Elephant, buffalo, Python, Zebra, Oryx, Impala and more. Over 450 species of birds have been observed. Its the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem.

A smorgasbord for predators and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. On drier ground you find the Kori bastard, the heaviest flying bird the stocking thigh ostrich, the worlds largest bird and small parties of ground horn bills blustering like turkeys. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge. Meal Plan: {L, D}.

  • Tarangire National Park - North Serengeti National Park (275km - 5 hours)

Breakfast at 0600am. Drive to North Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km) for a game drive via Ngorongoro Crater rim. Tanzanias oldest and most popular National Park, also a world heritage site. The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra, 300,000 many gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. The best month is December - March in the Southern Circuit in Ndutu Area. April and May in Western Corridor, June and July in Serengeti North.

October and November in Lobo and Loliondo controlled Area. Yet even when the migration is quiet the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game drive in Africa. As the day cools and the sky is streaked by red, gold and orange hues, you may be surprised by the roar of a lion, a galloping giraffe, or the high pitched giggling of hyenas fighting over a kill. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Savannah Tented Camp. Meal Plan: {B, L, D}.

  • North Serengeti National Park

You will have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. They move in an annual pattern which is fairly predictable, they are migrating throughout the year, constantly seeking fresh grazing and, it’s now thought, better quality water. The exact timing of the Serengeti wildebeest migration is wholly reliant upon the rainfall patterns each year. The animals have to cross north Tanzania area, meets up with Kenya Maasai Mara Reserve Mara River where crocodile lie inside the water waiting for barbecue.

The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of enormous numbers of the Serengeti’s wildebeest, accompanied by outsizes numbers of zebra. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain game including leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of interesting bird life. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Savannah Tented Camp. Meal Plan: {B, L, D}.

  • North Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater Rim (145km - 3 hours)

Wake up at 0600 hours for early morning game drives in north Serengeti National Park. Breakfast at 0900 hours at the camp. Here in the North Serengeti region you can often watch wildebeest and zebras next to lions and other big cats such as leopards and cheetahs. Lunch is taken at a picnic spot before a slow drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. On the way you will pass the Olduvai Gorge where the English pair, Louis and Mary Leak pioneered excavation work.

In the sixties some of the earliest archaeological deposits of human evolution was found and a small museum (visit optional) documents these discoveries. Then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Meal Plan: {B, L, D}.
