The Mikumi National Park is like the smaller brother at the northern border of Africas biggest game reserve - the Selous - but a visit is as great. Lions survey their grassy kingdom – and the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds that migrate across it – from the flattened tops of termite mounds, or sometimes, during the rains, from perches high in the trees. Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River, islets of shade favoured also by Mikumis elephants.

The Ruaha National Park is absolutely worth a visit. It is located in the centre of Tanzania and protects a vast tract of the rugged, semi-arid bush country that characterizes central Tanzania. Its lifeline is the Great Ruaha River. On this safari you will have the possibility to visit the park with a pop-up roof 4x4 vehicle, by foot and by boat.
